The Gene and Dave Show – 2019 CTD Film Festival
The Gene and Dave Show – 2019 CTD Film Festival
My how this Film Fest has grown over the past 16 years. This year’s Film Fest included RJ Mitte, co-star of TV show Breaking Bad, as guest host. Gene and Dave interviewed RJ as well as CTD staff to learn about the fashion segment of the Film Fest. RJ is a fascinating person and we were excited to interview him.
Originally initiated 16 years ago by CTD staff member William Greer, this Film Fest has received films, from 25 countries, to review. This year CTD also showed a film, Runway of Dreams, about adaptive fashion for people with disabilities.
On Sunday, the day after the Film Fest we sat in on the Adaptive Fashion Panel, made up of the Adaptive Fashion Challenge participants for an in-depth panel discussion on the adaptive fashion movement, plus how designers and individuals with disabilities can work together to solve fashion problems!
Panelists include:
Tanya Winters, disability advocate and Adaptive Fashion Model Stephanie Thomas, Disability Fashion Styling Expert & Founder of Cur8able Vanessa Villalva, professional seamstress, designer, and cofounder of Ronkita Design Dr. Aisen Chacin, medical device designer at Maker HealthSpace at UTMB Mimi Hau, Adaptive Fashion Challenge model Moderator: Jennifer Bracy, CTD and independent filmmaker
